Curious about the Catholic faith? Meet OCIA.

At OLM, as everywhere in the Catholic Church, OCIA means Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.

Ever wondered what it would actually feel like to become Catholic — not just what you’d need to believe, but what the process even looks like? That’s exactly what our OCIA Program is for.

Think of it less as a Catechism class and more as a Christian journey with company. OCIA is how adults who weren’t necessarily raised Catholic, or who are even exploring faith for the first time as grown-ups, get to ask the big questions — Who is God? What do Catholics actually believe, and why? Does any of this fit into my life? — alongside others doing the same thing, and guided by people who’ve walked the road before.

At OLM, this journey typically takes between one to two years, depending on where you’re starting from. There’s no pressure and no fixed script to start from: some people arrive with a lot of questions and no answers, others already feel drawn to the faith and just want to understand it properly before taking the leap. Both are completely welcome, and many more variations.

And OCIA isn’t only for those completely new to the Church. If you were baptised Catholic but never received First Eucharist or your Confirmation — maybe it fell through the cracks growing up, maybe it just never happened — this is also your way back to complete those needed step to fully embrace your Catholic faith.

There is no commitment required to start — just come after the 11:00 Sunday Mass, and see what it’s about. We start the new yearly program towards the end of September. All are welcome!
