At Our Lady of Mercy we believe that our youth are not only the future of the Church but that they are also the young Church of today.
Therefore, we have a special Mass every month in which the children act as the readers, ushers, and gift bearers. They write the Bidding Prayer for this special Mass. They often prepare with the choir for a special musical reflection. See our CCD Calendar for dates during the current CCD course.
In addition, the priest calls the children up around the altar during the homily so that God’s Word may be explained especially for them.
