Hello! Today is the feast day of St. Damasus and we wish our sister Spanish parish many blessings on their feast day.
On Sunday we will be celebrating Gaudete Sunday and will be “rejoicing” as Christmas draws near. Not sure if I will wear the pink vestment or not yet….What do you think?
On Sunday, we will be making an announcement about the Christmas Eve Masses on December 24th. Obviously, we cannot have the combined Mass with our sister parish because of the occupancy limitations. On Sunday we will let you know the procedures for reserving your seats in the church. We need to take seriously our safety measures during these uncertain times.
The Mass on December 25th will be at 11:00 AM. We will also live-stream the December 24th Mass.
Did you know that Our Lady of Mercy also offers many virtual ways to celebrate Christmas? Please take a moment and look what we have to offer at:
Thanks Lucille and Parish Council members for making these activities a reality!
Of course, I would be remiss if I did not remind you to make a special Christmas donation. It has been a difficult year economically and please support us as much as God allows you to do so.
Be blessed and safe,
Fr. Ron

Not Feeling Well
My sister had been ill, so I called to see how she was doing. My ten-year-old niece answered the phone.

“Hello,” she whispered.

“Hi, Honey. How’s your mother doing?” I asked.

“She’s sleeping,” she answered, again in a whisper.

“Did she go to the doctor?” I asked.

“Yes. She got some medicine,” my niece said softly.

“Well, don’t wake her. Just tell her I called. What are you doing, by the way?”

Again in a soft whisper, she answered, “Practising my trumpet.”
