Did you ever see the movie “Groundhog Day?” It kind of describes how many people feel nowadays with the never ending COVID crisis. Every day seems just like the previous day.
This Sunday, we will celebrate our Mass. We are very close to our legal limit for occupancy but are being even more strict with our safety measures. The Spanish parish is also experiencing an increase in attendance, despite the rising numbers of positive cases in Madrid.
A big thanks to our Disinfection team who sterilize the church pews between Masses. I made them lunch last Sunday (hopefully as a sign of appreciation, not punishment, ha ha!)
This Sunday we continue with Ordinary time. We will hear about Job in the first reading. I will speak about Job and the supermarket. I do believe it will be live streamed, thanks again to Janet and Alex.
Lent is coming up soon, William, the seminarian from Verbum Dei has offered to do Stations of the Cross in English on Fridays at 8:00 PM. More news as we get closer to Lent. There will be an Ash Wednesday bilingual Mass at 7:30 PM. More as the date gets closer, OK?
We are still doing our best to be church.
Thanks for your support and prayers,
Be safe,
God bless you,
Fr. Ron

Wedding Ceremony
A minister was planning a wedding at the close of the Sunday morning service.

After the benediction, he had planned to call the couple down for a brief ceremony in front of the congregation.

For the life of him, he couldn’t think of the names of those who were to be married.

“Will those wanting to get married please come to the front?” he requested.

Immediately, nine single ladies, three widows, four widowers, and six single men stepped to the front.
