I thought I would do this email sooner this week in order to make up for my tardiness last week.

Thanks to all who made our Mass yesterday so beautiful and touching. Great Hymns, the babies were beautiful at the baptisms, the prayers for Isiodoro’s father, and your kind birthday greetings! It was a record for me! Thank you!

Also, the book sale raised 160 Euros to help struggling families. Thank you for thinking of others. Thank you level 8, Cristina, and Barbara for leading this worthy project. People still read book! Not only screens!

Next Sunday Deacon Michael will inspire you once again at Mass. All other activities are in full swing, and the combined youth groups will go out to lunch and bowling after Mass. (Of course, they will share Christian reflection, we have a great team of seminarians leading the youth groups from both parishes).

An interesting fact: Although the press is often bad about the Church in general, Our Lady of Mercy and San Dámaso have been on a steady growth pattern for years now. The Spanish parish is also doing great! I thank my great brother priests Fr. Sebastian and Fr. Javier!

Spain is getting colder. We will keep the heat on at OLM, and next Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of ordinary time. In December we start Advent! (soon…..Christmas!!!)

Be blessed!

Scrub the Toilet – Do on to others!

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when my squad leader barged in. He was holding a toothbrush, which he proceeded to use to scrub underneath the rim of a toilet.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Hazing the new guy,” he said.

“You do know that he could get ill from the bacteria on the toilet.”

His reply was quick and to the point: “You didn’t.”
