Are you 18-40 years old and would like to meet other young adults who have similar interests and believe that spirituality is important? At Our Lady of Mercy, we have such a group that brings together enthusiastic young adults from all over the world.

What is a Catholic young adult group? It is not a prayer group but it certainly does have a spiritual dimension. It is a place for those who already have friends but want to socialise with Catholics about their same age. It’s primary purpose is not finding a date but you may possibly meet someone there who can enrich your life. It is NOT a self-centered group or divided from the rest of the parish but instead one that attempts to be integrated with other activities and groups in the parish. It is not just a social club but it definitely has a strong social dimension.

In the past, the group at OLM has taken on many dimensions. Most recently there was a young adult Mass, BBQs, a discussion forum and some outings scheduled around Madrid.

Our Young Adult Group has an attendance that goes up and down depending upon the number of interested members in Madrid at any given time. Most recently, it has been growing and thriving. The young adults themselves will decide exactly what direction and tone the group will take so the activities can change from year to year. Our current leader is a very charismatic young man from Australia by the name of Paul.

If you are interested, please come and join our community at any Sunday Mass (11:00 AM). Introduce yourself to the priest (Fr. Ron) and then he will introduce you to other young adults. We believe in a personal approach and really want you to see our Sunday Mass, as it is full of life and joy (with many other young people and families).
